Terese Erngaard, born in Denmark in 1962, studies architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Unité Pédagogique No. 6 in Paris and Columbia University in New York. She completes her master's degree at Columbia in 1990, receiving two awards. From 1991 to 1998, she teaches as an associate professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where she leads masterclasses and curates the annual international lecture series and accompanying exhibitions.

She begins her work with Diener & Diener Architekten in 1998 as head of the Swedish office in Malmö. Two years later, she takes over the Berlin office. She joins Executive Management in 2005 and becomes a partner in 2011. She leads projects in Germany and internationally and directs the Berlin office at both operational and strategic level.

For her contribution to architecture through her work at Diener & Diener, Terese Erngaard is awarded Denmark's Eckersberg Medal in 2017.
