Isabel Halene, born in Münster in 1966, studies architecture from 1984 at the University of Stuttgart, Unité Pédagogique Belleville UP8 in Paris and ETH Zurich. She completes her degree at the University of Stuttgart in 1994. From 2000 to 2002, she undertakes a Master of Advanced Studies in Arts Management at the University of Basel.

She joins Diener & Diener Architekten in Basel in 1994 and becomes an Associate in 2004. She works on competitions and invited studies and is responsible for the practice's publications. In doing so, she combines architectural project work with the editorial communication and documentation of the work of Diener & Diener Architekten.
