Strikingly densely joined, black stone characterizes the hotel front. Deep openings are stretched into a fabric. A window is as high and as wide as a room. The rooms have something in common with loges, focusing on the magnificent facade of the former Varieté and Lichtspielhaus opposite, house of past world fame, first "architecture of the night" in the Steinenvorstadt.  The rooms on the west side give contour to the narrow profile of Steinenbachgässlein. Spacious terraces line the cascade, with a club at the top. At the hotel entrance, a public passageway penetrates the building. Additional light enters the passage through the lobby window.
